Poetry Slam Winners!

Each year during National Poetry Month, area high schools are invited to send their teen poets to share their art in a slam competition at the library. In last night's slam two area high schools were represented, Ridgewood High School and River View High School, as the poets presented their work to an appreciative audience of teens, parents, teachers, and grandparents. An open mic session followed the competition. All the poets received journals to encourage them to keep writing.

The winners:
1st place: Tricia Malloy, Ridgewood High School. Tricia won a trophy for her school and a $25 gift card.
2nd place: Donnie Fuller, River View High School. Donie won a $20 gift card.
3rd place: Kayla Welch, Ridgewood High School. Kayla won a $15 gift card.
4th place: Seneca Douglas, Ridgewood High School. Seneca won a $10 gift card.

Congratulations to all the poets!
